Hormone Harmonizing Chai Latte

Have you ever tried making your own chai tea? Most store-bought chai concentrates are packed with undesirable ingredients like excess added sugars and preservatives. Making a fresh chai blend at home is actually quite easy, and you can get really creative with the herbs you pick and choose to include. You can play with the herbs and spices, balancing flavors to your liking and even adding your own twist—maybe a touch of vanilla or a pinch of black pepper for some extra zing.

Metabolic Guard is the perfect addition to your morning cup of chai, as it adds a subtle sweetness and a medicinal dose of ginger and cinnamon, which work together to assist healthy insulin signaling and hormone optimization. As a bonus, the L-Carnitine in this formula supercharges it to activate your metabolic spark by helping to convert fatty acids to energy within the mitochondria.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon dandelion root
  • 1tsp loose-leaf black tea of choice
  • 1/4tsp fennel seed
  • 5-6 green cardamom pods
  • 1/2c milk of choice
  • 1tsp Metabolic Guard
  • Splash of vanilla
  • Sweetener of choice to taste (optional)

Process:

  • Add black tea, dandelion root, fennel seeds, cardamom pods and any other herbs of preference to a sauce pan and cover with 2 cups water
  • Simmer/decoct the tea on the stove for ~10 minutes
  • Warm your milk of choice in a small pan
  • Add Metabolic Guard and vanilla extract to warmed milk and froth until foamy
  • Strain hot tea into mugs and add sweetener if using
  • Top with foamed milk and enjoy hot
  • Benefits: metabolic guard/liver support/digestive support/gentle energy boost/carminative
