Made with just apples, a splash of water, and a generous pour of our Elderberry Immune Elixir, this version skips the refined sugar and dyes. Perfect for school lunches, road trips, or cozy movie nights, these fruit snacks are a fun way to sneak herbs into your whole family’s routine.
Ingredients:
- 8 apples
- 2 tablespoons Elderberry Immune Elixir
A super concentrated, fast-acting elderberry "syrup" traditionally used to support immune response at onset during seasonal challenges.* STAR HERB: Elderberry
Elderberry Immune Elixir
- Splash of water
Method:
- Roughly chop apples and add to a saucepan with a small splash of water
- Simmer with the lid on for about 30 minutes until the apples have softened
- Allow to cool to the touch
- Using a stick blender or regular blender, blend the apples until no lumps remain
- Add elderberry elixir and blend again
- Pour the mixture onto dehydrator trays lined with parchment or silicon and smooth into thin, even sheets
- Dry the leathers for 6-8hrs at 135 degrees
- Once dry, peel the leathers from the trays and cut into long strips
- Roll the strips up and add to a glass jar - these will keep in the pantry for several months!
