How to Stop Letting Perfectionism Control Your Life (Video)

Today I’m talking about how “perfectionism” is not a permanent trait that we’re shackled to – rather it is a protecter we’ve created to cope with stress and shield our inner child. By getting in touch with and healing that inner child (and doing the things that scare you to prove to yourself that the world *isn’t* going to end), we can take the “managers” and “protecters” off the clock and get back to the true self. ♡

Summary

Perfectionism often masks a deeper need for safety—one we developed to shield a tender inner self from overwhelm or criticism. But it’s not who we are. It’s just a protector doing its job. When we begin to nurture the inner child beneath the armor and lean into small, brave acts that prove we’ll be okay without the perfection… something softens. That inner manager can finally rest, and we get to meet the version of ourselves that’s been there all along: whole, worthy, and free to just be.
