GlucoBitters is an herbal, “metabolic vinegar” tincture infused with over 500mg of botanicals that help maintain healthy blood sugar levels in the normal, healthy range. Each herb in this blend helps lessen occasional cravings and supports insulin sensitivity, helping you become less resistant to reaching your weight management goals. The combination of organic apple cider vinegar and powerful blood sugar botanicals provides complementary benefits not experienced with either herbs or vinegar alone. Thus, this 2-for-1 tool helps “train” your body to be more stable and adaptable when indulging in occasional heavy meals, sweets and desserts.

Star herbs like Gymnema and Bitter Melon help you to utilize carbohydrates for fuel metabolically, helping support more sustained energy levels as well as healthy balance within hormones such as insulin and testosterone. This formula is for anyone who wants to avoid the ‘glucose rollercoaster’ of sugar and carb cravings, energy or mood dips, feeling “hangry,” and difficulty maintaining a healthy weight. Simply take 1-2 full droppers in a glass of water before meals or treats.*

Metabolic Magic

The super herbs in our blend

Gymnema sylvestre

As “the sweet tooth slayer,” Gymnema works overtime to maintain healthy blood sugar levels. Key for pancreatic health and healthy weight management, this herb supports the body in metabolizing glucose and maintaining normal insulin production.*

The herbs within this blend are a unique and complementary combination of botanicals that have been suggested to help maintain blood sugar levels in the normal, healthy range through various mechanisms, including gymnemic acid from Gymnema, polypeptide-P and p-insulin from Bitter Melon, and cinnamaldehyde from Cinnamon.

It also contains a powerful metabolic punch of acetic acid from its base of organic apple cider vinegar, a compound highly regarded for its ability to support healthy blood glucose metabolism and uptake in the muscles, along with promoting normal insulin sensitivity.*

About the

Made with “blood sugar botanicals”

When it comes to maintaining normal, healthy blood sugar levels and normal insulin metabolism with the goal of weight management and healthy hormones (especially insulin and testosterone), herbalists turn to a mix of bitter and warming herbs that help to support metabolism. Healthy insulin sensitivity is key for hormone balance, as insulin drives excess androgen production and unbound estrogen – which can affect cycle length, flow, cravings, facial hair, metabolism, and more.*

GlucoBitters is formulated with ‘blood sugar bitters:’ our term for digestive herbs rich in bitter phytochemicals that support not only digestion, but may help support healthy insulin sensitivity on a cellular level.* When the bitter compounds in plants are detected by our taste buds, a cascade of messages gets sent to the brain triggering the release of digestive fluids to prepare your GI tract for the optimal breakdown of your meal.

Studies are just beginning to uncover that the bitter alkaloids in key botanicals also support the secretion of a gut hormone called GLP-1, which aids metabolism by helping to balance our hunger cues, supporting the normal, healthy release of insulin, and helping our cells uptake glucose from food to be used for energy. The release of GLP-1, triggered by bitter phytochemicals, also helps to maintain healthy blood sugar and support healthy weight management, when paired with a sensible diet and consistent exercise.

The bitter botanicals within this blend include Gymnema, Bitter Melon, Gentian, Cinnamon, and more. Gymnema contains phytochemicals called gymnemic acids which support the way that the body responds to glucose. This class of plant compounds also changes the way the taste buds sense and perceive sugar, helping us get a hold on our occasional cravings so that we can make choices that support our long term goals.

Bitter Melon contains two phytonutrients called polypeptide-P and charantin, which aid healthy insulin on a cellular level and encourage the body’s normal uptake of glucose in the liver, muscles, and adipose tissue. Gentian’s bitter iridoid glycosides help stimulate the normal secretion of GLP-1 in the gut, while Cinnamon has been suggested to support healthy hormone and insulin levels in those with hormonal complaints.*

Why apple cider vinegar?

Instead of our usual alcohol or glycerin tinctures, we’ve chosen to extract these powerful botanicals into a base of organic apple cider vinegar. On its own, consuming cider vinegar before meals is a potent tool for helping maintain blood sugar levels in the normal, healthy range. We’ve taken things a step further by extracting key metabolic herbs into an “herbal vinegar,” resulting in a finished product that has complementary benefits not experienced with either herbs or vinegar alone.*

Vinegar’s mechanism of action is two-fold: 1. The acetic acid in vinegar helps temporarily blunt the effect of the enzyme that turns complex food → to simple glucose when carbohydrate-rich foods come into contact with our saliva. Thus, sugars and starches are converted to glucose at a slower rate.* 2. That same acetic acid found in vinegar also has an effect on our muscle tissue, helping our muscles uptake and utilize that food-turned-to-glucose as fuel.*

Who It’s For

This formula is for those who are looking for a strategy to help combat the ‘glucose rollercoaster,’ where the vicious cycle of occasional cravings, energy dips after meals, and hormonal disharmony can get in the way of you looking and feeling your best.*

Some early research shows that as many as 90% of completely healthy individuals experience a subpar metabolic response after consuming foods as common as bagels and breakfast cereal. For those with hormone complaints, this is something to be mindful of. The goal of this pre-meal blend is to help support your metabolism so that all the changes you’re working so hard to make are that much more effective. When taken before meals, you can rest easy knowing you have a tool on your side to help optimize your response to the food on your plate.

GlucoBitters is especially helpful for those who have tried it all and make the effort to eat healthy each day but have seen waning results over the years due to changing hormones and metabolism common with aging. GlucoBitters helps your body respond to your favorite nutritious foods in a healthier way, helping combat the potential ‘crash’ and impact of less-than-perfect, occasional indulgences, too. While we all aim to eat balanced, protein and fiber-packed meals, the reality is that sometimes you’re on the go and need to fuel up with what’s in front of you (or you’re out to dinner for a girl’s night simply enjoying yourself – as you should!)*

By assisting your body in maintaining healthy insulin levels in the normal, healthy range and metabolizing carbohydrate-rich foods in a healthy way, GlucoBitters helps support your adaptability in response to meals, snacks, and desserts so that you can live life to the fullest *and* meet your goals. It helps to ease occasional indulgences so that you can enjoy whatever’s on your plate with peace of mind.*

How to Use

Before carb-heavy meals, sweets, or desserts, take 1-2 full droppers diluted in a small amount of water. Do not take undiluted. If you forget to take it before meals, you can also take it afterwards – the vinegar and herbs will still exert a glucose-supporting effect and help you utilize carbohydrates more efficiently.*

The story
behind the formula

Last year, I decided to get serious about balancing my blood sugar so that I could finally take my health to the next level and reach my fitness goals. Besides weight lifting – which was life changing for me – one thing I implemented was taking a shot of apple cider vinegar before meals, as studies suggest that this can help support and help balance blood glucose thanks to the acetic acid content.*

Vinegar was so effective for me that I went back to my herbalist roots and added a layer of functionality by infusing full strength blood-sugar-balancing herbs into a base of cider vinegar instead of alcohol or glycerin. I found this plant-powered formula to be even more efficacious than plain vinegar alone, and have been utilizing it ever since before carb-heavy meals, sweets and desserts (especially if I’m indulging without additional protein and fiber to dull the effects). I now bring it with me everywhere I go and gladly take a ‘shot’ in a glass of water at restaurants and while traveling to continue hitting my goals.*
