I have struggled so much with perfectionism over the years, not realizing this is the voice of a constant-output-driven society and culture pushing us to do more and always be on. I've been on a journey of reclaiming my voice and my body's natural rhythm, learning my worth outside of productivity. As always, herbs have helped me so much in allowing my nervous system to actually adjust to this much needed shift.

For the perfectionist who can't turn it off
Blue Vervain
Verbena hastata
A true Type A ally, this bitter, cooling plant supports the liver in releasing tension and frustration while easing the body’s tight grip. A supreme antispasmodic, it softens the neck, jaw, and shoulders when the mind refuses to rest. As herbalist Lisa Fazio says, “Blue vervain is second to none for muscle constriction caused by nervous tension—especially in intense, overdriven types. Its cool blue medicine eases and relaxes not just the body, but the soul.”
This plant is for the perfectionist who lives above the neck—overthinking, overdoing, overholding. She helps you exhale, unclench, and soften back into your body
A calming nervine tincture designed for the high-achieving, overthinking, Type-A brain that holds it all together — until the tension hits your jaw, neck, and nervous system.
INSIDE THE FORMULA
Each herb in this blend offers its own medicine for those of us who tend to get tightly wound. Some loosen the jaw and melt the shoulders, while others quiet the mind and soften the inner critic. Together, this thoughtful blend invites you to let go, breathe deeper, and find ease in imperfection.
A deep nervous system tonic that rebuilds frayed nerves and quiets mental chatter. Scullcap helps unwind the spinning mind, calm overactivation, and bring the body out of go-go-go mode.
Warming, soothing, and deceptively powerful, chamomile softens irritability and tension held in the gut. It also brings warmth to the solar plexus (where ego and control often live), reminding you to breathe and let it be.
For those who seem to have it together on the outside but feel wound up on the inside. Agrimony eases inner tension masked by outer composure and reminds us that vulnerability is its own form of strength.
A cooling brain tonic that steadies racing thoughts and improves focus without the edge. Bacopa clears heat from an overworked mind, helping mental energy flow freely again.
For tender hearts that feel deeply and carry too much. Pulsatilla balances emotional swings, eases overwhelm, and soothes the inner child who feels they’re “too much” or feels the need to hold everything together for others.

The Pressure of Perfectionism
Perfectionism is a form of pressure. It lives in …
Perfectionism is a form of pressure. It lives in your mind, but it’s felt in your body — especially in your neck, jaw, and shoulders. This formula brings together calming nervines and physical antispasmodics that address both the mental loop and the muscular contraction.
It's for the perfectionist who gets stuck above the neck — constantly replaying, fixing, worrying, tweaking.
For the achiever who can’t rest until every box is checked, but ends the day with clenched teeth and a tight chest.
And for the overthinker who lives in their head but so desperately wants to land back in their body.
Sometimes that "get sH&% done" drive is your superpower, until it turns into tension that won't let go. That's where these nervine herbs come in to slowly nourish and soothe overstimulated nerves, release built-up pressure, and remind your system what ease and flexibility feel like again.

Why it Works

This tincture targets both the mental and physical manifestations of rigidity and perfectionism. The herbs within help soothe anxiety(especially when paired with racing thoughts or irritability) while easing muscle tension in the neck and shoulders, where perfectionists tend to hold stress. They promote mental calm and reduce rumination, making it easier to let go of calm and embrace imperfection. By grounding and centering the body, this blend helps you drop out of your head and back into balance.

Who Its For
Perfectionists, sometimes called Reformers, tend …
Perfectionists, sometimes called Reformers, tend to see the world not as it is but how it "should" be. They crave improvement and order, often holding themselves (and sometimes others) to impossibly high standards. Mistakes, gray areas, and "good enough" can feel extremely uncomfortable. These folks tend to notice what's missing rather than the beauty of what's here now with its limitations, flaws, and quirks.
They can be rigid, reliable, and relentlessly driven. The kind of people who straighten every crooked picture frame and tidy up the forest floor, forgetting that nature actually needs the mess of twigs and fallen leaves to thrive. Type A by nature, these individuals thrive on checklists, structure, and accomplishment... but often at the expense of softness and play.

The story behind the formula
As a girl with classic Pitta energy, I've struggled with perfectionism for as long as I can remember. I've always been the person with a million different lists, equating my own worth with how closely I stick to my own impossible standards (even when my body is begging for rest). Over the years, I've learned how much that rigidity disconnects me from my flow, my creativity, and ultimately my feminine side. Grounding nervine herbs like those found in this formula have been a massive part of that healing, helping me release tension, get out of my head, and soften into a more flexible version of myself that is able to make my art authentically. I made Perfectionist Drops as a daily ally for all of us who need a little help loosening up and remembering that we're already enough just as we are.

TIPS FROM OUR HERBALIST
Your common qs
-
Can I take this during the day without getting sleepy?
Yes! These herbs are calming, not sedating. You’ll feel more relaxed — not zonked out.
-
Can I combine it with coffee or stimulants?
Yes, and it might be a good idea — especially if you feel edgy or tense after caffeine.
-
Will this help my jaw clenching or neck pain?
If that tension is driven by stress or mental overexertion, absolutely. These herbs have a specific affinity for tightness above the shoulders.
-
How long does it take to work?
ou may feel an effect in minutes, especially in moments of acute stress — but for deeper nervous system rebuilding, consistency over time is key.
