Why should I supplement with a probiotic, versus obtaining probiotics from food?

A probiotic supplement is much more powerful for a damaged gut that needs to be ‘re-seeded.’ Usually, only a small percentage of the probiotics you take in (whether from food or supplements) will actually stick around and populate your gut. You have a much better chance of the good strains sticking around if you’re dosing with a 20 billion CFU product vs. a jar of pickles or sauerkraut. We always recommend a combination of both!
