Super Soother is a calming, multi-use formula designed for everything from restlessness and excitability, to tummy troubles, all the way to sleep concerns and airplane woes. This liquid blend promotes a relaxed state of being during the day and also supports calming at night..
This formula is one of our favorites as it is a broad spectrum soother that supports the nervous system and digestive system. It can be used during the day to help calm excitability and support focus (combines well with Focus Friend). It can also be used in the evening to support winding down before bed (10-30 minutes before sleep). May be given during story time to aid relaxation and tension.
Super Soother can also be used for support during stressful situations such as airplane travel, long car trips, performance nerves in older kids, tummy troubles, gas, stomach discomfort and more. The gentle herbs provide a baseline of soothing support that can be applied to a wide range of situations.
(NOTE: Although this can be used for winding down at bedtime, typically, it will not make a child drowsy when used in the daytime. It is a balancing formula that calms and supports the nervous system).

1. What is the ideal age range for this product?
This product is technically safe for children 1 year of age and older, however due to the intended goal of the formula it is best for school-aged children 5+.
2. Can this formula be used on adults?
Yes. Adults can follow the dosage by weight chart and take 1+ full dropper.
3. Is this gluten/dairy/corn/soy/nut free?
4. In terms of supporting attention and focus, what’s the difference between Focus Friend and Mellow Plus?
Focus Friend is for improving alertness via ginkgo (cerebral circulation), gotu kola (nourishes circulation and thyroid), licorice (supports cortisol balance) and Rhodila (adaptogen and supports oxygen uptake). We also add a small amount of Lobelia to support entering the “parasympathetic” branch of the nervous system which allows us to focus, rest, digest, etc. While the Lobelia here helps with hyperactivity, Super Soother also contains this herb *and* offers other pathways to “chill mode.”
If hyperactivity dominates the pattern, go with Super Soother to start, always at the lowest dose of about 5 drops to begin.
If the pattern is more about being tired, moody and unable to focus as the primary concern, start with Focus Friend.
5. Does this need to be taken daily to see results? Or only occasionally when the child needs calming?
It can absolutely be used occasionally as a calming tool (similar to something like chamomile tea or a calming kids tea and can even be put into warm water to make one). However it is also suitable for longer term use if that’s more in line with your child’s needs.
6. Would this be good for adults?
Yes, and it can be nice for stomach aches/anxiety in stomach due to the soothing chamomile.
7. Can you mix this with Attention Plus? Should you only take one at a time?
It’s always best to layer them in one by one with several weeks in between to see what is helping most so that one can track progress and which formulas are making a difference! There are no contraindications in using several together (i.e. Focus Friend in AM/afternoon, Super Soother in PM) but ideally you want to go slowly, one at a time, to notice changes and progress.
8. Can this be combined with Peace Juice for adults?
9. What makes this different from an adult formula?
This formula is designed for kids in the sense it is a bit more mellow than an adult formula. In our adult formula Peace Juice, we use kava which is a stronger, more overtly relaxing herb that acts on tension. This blend is gentler, more sensitive to kids’ taste buds in terms of the herb choices, and kids generally need less which is why it’s dosed by weight so you can find the lowest possible dosage.
10. Will this help with falling asleep or is it just calming?
Both; for some it may simply help them to wind down at bedtime, but for others who are more receptive to gentle herbs like chamomile it can absolutely help with sleep support. It’s the same thing with one adult who feels supremely relaxed after a cup of chamomile, and another adult who needs something stronger and thinks chamomile is a walk in the park.
11. How long would it typically take for it to have/take effect?
With herbs like the chamomile and valerian in this formula, generally effects would be seen same day.
12. Can this be combined with ______?
Always ask your child’s doctor before beginning any herb or supplement. This goes whether they are currently on medications or not — it’s best to have everyone on board.
*NOTE: When starting, you may begin with the lowest dosage of 5-10 drops and work your way up to the full suggested dose for your child’s weight class. Some will respond to lower dosages where others require the full dosage by weight. We ideally want to find the lowest effective dosage that yields an improvement as this saves you money and helps the formula last longer.
Our kid’s line is designed for children over 1 year of age, but is useful for children, teens, and adults alike. See “dosage by weight” chart below. As always, we ask that you check with your child’s practitioner before beginning any herbal or dietary supplement.
