Why High Fructose Corn Syrup is Killing Us Slowly

Did you know that high fructose corn syrup is the sweetener used to create diabetes in rats for research?
If there’s one thing you can do right this minute to improve your health dramatically, it’s boycott high fructose corn syrup. This stuff is a poison in so many ways, but perhaps the most shocking is its mercury content.
An FDA researcher asked corn producers to ship them a barrel of high fructose corn syrup in order to test for contaminants. The researcher’s repeated requests were refused, until she posed as a representative for a newly created soft drink company. She was then promptly shipped a big vat of HFCS that was used as part of the study that showed that HFCS often contains toxic levels of mercury (source).
How did mercury get in there?!
It turns out that the process of making corn syrup, cornstarch, or corn sugar is actually a mercury chlor-alkali process. It loads the victim with one of the most toxic heavy metals in the world. The average teenager consumes 34 teaspoons of high fructose corn syrup each day. That’s a lot of heavy metal going into their brains, thyroid glands, and vital organs.
When HFCS is run through a chemical analyzer or a chromatograph, strange chemical peaks show up that are not glucose or fructose. No one knows what they are exactly, but they’re likely other toxic contaminants that we don’t need entering our already overburdened bodies.
On top of all this, when HFCS is made, the glucose and fructose—which are naturally bound together—become separated. This allows the fructose to mainline directly into your liver, which turns on a factory of fat production in your liver called lipogenesis. This leads to fatty liver, the most common disease in America today, affecting 90 million Americans (source).
Not to mention that all corn used to make HFCS is GMO.
GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants that are genetically engineered with foreign DNA from bacteria, viruses or other plants and animals. These experimental combinations of genes do not occur in nature or through traditional crossbreeding.
Corn is engineered to contain a “Bt toxin” derived from bacteria in its DNA. It’s designed to contain this built-in toxic pesticide so that it constantly produce it at all times (and thus kills whatever pests are trying to eat the corn). You can never remove it, so what happens when WE eat it?
They haven’t done any tests on human stomachs thus far, but here’s what happened when they fed one group of pigs GM corn and another group a non-GM variety.
Upon examination, the doctors concluded the pigs on the GM diet had significantly higher rates of stomach inflammation — 32 percent, compared to 12 percent in non-GM diet pigs — and that the severity of the inflammation was worse as well, by a factor of 4.0 in males and 2.2 in females. Pigs fed the GM grain also had 25 percent larger uteri than non-GM diet pigs (source).
Every time you consume corn syrup, you’re ingesting a nutritionally devoid substance made from these inflammatory, toxic corn crops.
HFCS is in almost every single conventional packaged food today. If you find “high fructose corn syrup” on the label you can be sure it is not a whole, real, fresh food full of fiber, vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. Stay away if you want to stay healthy and read EVERY label, because it’s often hiding in the sneakiest places.
